• Lines or words directly from the passage that inspires you.(starting point)
• Explain the mood you interpreted from those lines
• Explain how you will recreate that mood in your still life

Painting hair can be difficult, but if you basically reduce it to 3 tones; dark, medium and light and follow the pattern created in those tones it becomes easier to paint
Remember painting hair has layer over layers to get the 3d effect and the texture of hair.
There are lots of ways to approach it, watch the following youtube tutorials to get a greater insight.
Do your own research to tailor to your own needs of hair type, colour etc.

1. Describe in your own words the meaning of pattern and write this description into your sketchbook. Collect images of 5 patterns and stick them below your description.
2. Collect images of the creature you would like to create.

Using your collected images of the creature you would like to create, design on paper how you will evolve your creatures from your research. Use the images above to be inspired not to copy.

Finish the design process with colour and pattern included

Learn how to create a coiled pot. Using your mark making techniques, turn the coiled pot into a creature.
